Beat Friend firmware update

Use this page to send new firmware to your Beat Friend over USB.

The latest recommended version is selected by default. If you’re interested in what’s changed the full changelog is here.

Preparation

Before you start, connect this computer to your Beat Friend using a micro USB cable. If your computer asks you whether to allow or trust the new connection, say yes.

Then on your Beat Friend, hold the fill button and hit the start/stop button to get into the Super Secret Settings menu, scroll through to “start firmware update” and hit the start/stop button. You should see “waiting for computer”. Now you’re ready to click the connect button below.

Warning!

Rewriting your own brain is always a delicate business, so please be gentle: don’t disconnect or power down Beat Friend during the process. If something goes wrong, Beat Friend will restart itself with the old firmware and you can try again (refresh this page if you need to). This is normal.
